A pen came in with a damage and needed some repair. It is the first repair on one of my pens and I tried to do my best. "Kintsugi" is the art of mending. In Japan things are not thrown away but are mended with urushi or and metal powders such as gold = Kin or Silver = Gin.
I Japan people believe, that a mended piece can become more precious that it has been before.

Best regards,

Martin

Your Kintsugi (repaired) pen definitely fulfills the Japanese tradition that "a mended piece can become more precious that it has been before". The owner must be thrilled! I am impressed. No 'oops' band here.:wink:This appears to be the original design rather than a patch to repair damage. Fine work as always...

Very nice. If one didn't know they could believe it was designed this way. Martin was it just a chip in the urushi of the cap or did the ebonite also break out?
