Kinsoku Mitateai is the term used for urushi lacquer imitating metal surfaces and colors. Here two Ebonite pens with varieties of this lacquer, one with a lacquer imitating "Damascus Steel" and another one imitating "Mokumegane". Both techniques are achieved by using metal powders sprinkled into wet urushi lacquer.

Chers,

Martin

These pens are indeed very lovely !

I am wondering how the small circular patterns form ... do you do something special to cause them to appear ?

Both are wonderful, but the Gold really appeals to me. Very nice.

Thank you for sharing. Your techniques are very inspiring (although probably not enough for me to ascend from Wipe on Poly :rolleyes::)).
