Manu Propria - Pair of Pens

This morning I finished a pair of pens. Long desk pens with a large No. 8 gold nib. The lacquer is a "kuro-tame-negoro-nuri", trasparent blacl urushi over red ground. As an addition I applied pattern of red maple leafs onto the base lacquer. In the moment the leafs appear partially through the black transparent lacquer. With the time the urushi will become more transparent and shall releas the full picture of the momiji leaf pattern. There is also an individual text with date drawn with urushi placed at the end of the barrel.

Very nice Martin. I like the subtle band. Is that an insert with the band as a shoulder? Urushi is beautiful. Isn't it? :biggrin:

Thank you. You are right Chuck, Urushi is an exceptional material and I also like the gold band and think it enriches the pen
