Gorgeous! Where did you find mammoth tooth that you could turn? I've been thinking of trying one in mammoth ivory sometime soon.

I've got a sneak peak on the other pen Alejanders had made recently... Guys, I wish I had it made myself. It's a killer. This one is awesome, but that....
I have to say that I can get mammoth tooth to. Not so expensive to buy, $100 tooth may be (Ok, relatively not so expencive!
). But it is toughest material to work with, so I put it aside everytime with a first thought "how would I cut it to blank size???".

Beautiful pen. One of the nicest I've seen. Very nice work.
I would also like to say that it is so cool that we can all talk and share our hobby from Russia, Ukraine, USA and Canada . I love it.

Yes we keep them as pets and ride them to work. Hahaha
Most animal parts like furs and bone can't be transported in and out of the country but I'm not sure about mamoth. I should check on that

Oddly enough, I was looking at a tooth blank over at Fine Turnage Productions last night. They specialize in knife blanks, but the full tang blanks can sometimes be used for pens.

Highly recommend Charles Turnage for material in the Us. My dad has dealt with him for many years making knifes.

That is a beautiful pen! It must have been difficult to shape the pen, the tooth must have been very hard.

Yeah, how can I make an application?
I am not sure that he sells stabilized tooth. Not stabilized tooth can be cracked with fingers.

Very nice never seen another like it and probably never will. I would say that this pen is right up there, with even the kit-less pens in terms of skill.

Looks great! I would have preferred a "silver" based plating (platinum,rhodium,ect.) but that's just me.
