that is making the most of what you have. I looked at some scrap ivory and was wondering the best way to turn it into something. This gives a good idea. That or casting it all in in resin.

I'll bet it does....! That's a lot of careful, custom fitting. What is the dark coloured veneer you're using between the fossilized tusk segments? The contrast is perfect.

I can only imagine how scary, drilling this blank was.... :rolleyes:

It was unknown dyed veneer, probably wenge imitation 0,5mm thick.

I have dyed it with black spirit wood stain.

I think, on small pen thinner spacers needed. Or, maybe just colored glue.

You are right, it was very scary to drill and turn it. But Titebond Glue shows youself very strong.
