Had a chance to play with some Mammoth Kauri that I picked up at woodcraft recently. This was such a splendid experience from drilling to finishing that I wanted to share it with you. As wood goes i would say its a little plain at initial glance, but after the CA was polished up it seems to glow! Love the natural coloring and dont be surprised if you see a few more of these :) 10 or so coats of CA, MM to 12000, Novus2, and PlastX. C&C Welcome!

I don't see any reason not to! Go for it! I skipped any segments for this one as I have never worked with kauri and wanted to do a little learning by turning both barrels from kauri.

Same thing I assume, this is labeled as Mammoth Kauri from WC. Perhaps "Ancient Mammoth Kauri" would be more suitable. These trees are pretty massive if you ever look into them, im sure thats where the mammoth comes from!
