Three pens from mammoth ivory.
White (from permafrost) and fossil (bog one).

I like fossil ivory. It is more constrast. But harder to work, it is MUCH brittle...

Nothing to add... Noble pens.

No longer confused....
:( Cant see them on that photo, I was mostly curious because I have noticed a few interesting things in the lines on various mammoth ivory that I have worked with in the past.

Right, on such cuts you cannot tell if it mammoth or elephant (it may be determined only on cross-cut, on area next to bark layer). But it is mammoth ivory.

But brown areas is fossil ivory, i am not sure that it is possible to color elephant ivory to such color.
