It doesn't excite me. Maybe in person would look better. But, for an Emp. it lacks elegance. Your background and prop don't help much either. Your work is good but the final result is pretty 'Ho-Hum'. Sorry.

Nice, Is the Ivory hard to turn? Does it turn like antler? trustone?

This particular mammoth ivory was hard to turn. The ivory was hard, some pieces of it were harder than others (some were hard and some were even harder), the black matrix was softer. Most of the final turning was done with a skew turned on its side like a scraper to avoid gouging.

I've seen other mammoth ivory that is too soft and chalk-like.

I think I agree that it is too busy for an emperor, I'll take it to a show to get some customer feedback, it is too busy, but it may sell.
