Nice looking lot. I've got about 35 ready to turn - I set myself up a spreadsheet to keep me clued up with the status of each one. So I can see if it's marked, cut, drilled, glued, trimmed, turned or assembled.

It's actually working quite well. All 35 are ready to turn and I have another 3 that I've had to revert back to cut due to some blank blowups :-(

Here's hoping you get them all done.

Cheers

Nicely done on the finished pens!
Great job on keeping up with each one. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the finished designs.

that is FAR too organized and where is the challenge if you don't have to go find the parts you need next?

Good luck with the show!

Thanks a lot, guys.

I'm at the fun, turning and polishing stage now. I'm an organization nutcase I'm afraid. if not, I'd be all over the place.

I have designed a spreadsheet to track my inventory of kits, blanks, tools, equipment etc. It also tracks all of my sales along with taxes to be paid on the sold pens. It has a final page which totals existing pen value, value of blanks, kits and pen inventory and every time I make a pen, I simply update the sheet and I always know everything I have and a status of pens available, plus a history.

If you want a blank copy of it, I'd be more than happy to share it with you. If I remember, I'll post it to this thread.

I'll post a picture of the finished display of pens and let y'all know how many/much I sold when done.

Thanks for the feedback.

Here's some more I made today. I have got to figure out this photography thing; these photos suck.

Photo 1 is a series of rifle pens: Jungle camo, USS North Carolina, USS North Carolina, desert camo, desert camo.

Photo 2 is a series of European pens: 1 & 2 are pen/pencil set in Cocobolo, York Gum burl, Jerusalem Olive wood, Stunning piece of Ironwood.

Photo 3 is a European pen/pencil set in Sandringham Yew (already sold the pair for $110-I know I'm not asking enough!

Photo 4 is gold letter opener using Spanish Oak from texas with Turquoise resin forced through the grain

Photo 5 is platinum letter opener using Cocobolo.

All finishes are BLO/Chestnut friction polish/Renaissance wax.

Thoughts on pricing??

This is the preview show for the art trail. I had all 67 pens on display and priced ready to be sold. Not a lot of people through the preview, expecting a lot more through the art trail but I did sell a few. It's always the ones you don't expect to sell that sell and the totally awesome pens don't...go figure.

You can see my pricing; most said too cheap. However, I'd rather sell a lot at a good price than a few at a high price. besides, it's just a hobby.

Thoughts, guys??
