It's hard to photograph plus I am no photographer by any means. II am definitely a "point and shoot" person 
This is actually the 3rd Maj'k blank I've turned. The first 2, I back painted in a color close to the color of the blank. When finished, it didn't really bring out the colors of the blank. SWMBO suggested the blue on this one - she's the artist around here.

BJ the ones I have done, I actually back paint white. Sometime I don't backpaint them either.
