Here is my first try at one of the higher end pens. I used a Yellow Spiney Tru-Stone from R & B Crafts. This was very easy to work with and I really like the color after being polished. Also, these are my first pics using a light box I made so please comment on the quality of the photo (good, bad, happy, sad). As always, all comments/questions appreciated!

Ps: check out my fiancee's first Tru-Stone pen. Pictures also taken with new light box. http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56614

Nice pen and I really like the last photo -- one bit of improvement would be to crop out the material change in top left of last photo.

Nice pen, and great pics. I just made a photo box to. I used card stock 24" x 36" some measurement like that. then i cut it to fit as a back drop. No wrinkles. Carl

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The wrinkles are actually from the white cloth I used to place the pen on. I guess I got a lil lazy and didn't consider how they looked. I still have alot of tweaking to do on my light box.

Jonathon, to be clear, I think the last pen photo is great! Only change (and it is very minor !!!) would be to move the pen or crop the photo to remove the fabric seam at the top/left of the photo. Wrinkles didn't bother me but my eye went to the seam for some reason and the only reason I mentioned it is you asked for feedback. I thought the photo would be even better if the tent fabric seam wasn't visible.

Edit: Woops -- I see another poster mentioned wrinkles -- sorry! -- in any case, clarifying my earlier comment as an on-request nit pick only and not a major criticism of the photo.

I totally agree with you on the crop. I don't mind the feedback at all. I am my own worst critic and I should have taken the time to do it right, just like I wanted to do with making the pen. Thank you for giving your opinion :), and here is the same pic re-done without the seam.

...change the angle.

First...great looking pen, with outstanding color, fit an finish. The Majestic is rapidly becoming one of my favorites.

By the way, an easy way to eliminate problem backgrounds is to raise the angle of your camera.

Cheers,

t.
