Here is my first majestic pen that I have made. I love these kits, even though they are on the pricey side.

I not 100% what material it is... I cut it off a chuck 3x3x6 blank that I picked up at a garage sale for $10. I had asked a guy that said it was a Big Leaf Maple Burl, I just would like a second opinion.

I've turned lots of Maple burl and as best as one could tell from a picture, I'd say maple burl

I agree with all the others, it looks good. I picked up a piece of big leaf burl at woodcraft a few years back and it does resemble it.

Beautiful pen Derek . The Majestics are my favorite pen kits , they have good platings and look great . I would say that the wood is a Maple burl , I have some just like that .
