Hi,

After many challenges and battles with CA/BLO, I think I may be heading in the right direction!

This is a coat of BLO then 4 coats of Medium CA, and a nice piece of Macassar Ebony. I have to say this is one of my favorite woods at the moment! I reckon I'm about 75% on the happiness of my finish with this one.

Critiques welcome! (I know the photo is great! details tails of at the clip end!)

Just been looking at this pen again.

Do you think a gold finish would be better, or does the chrome suit it? It was a hard decision when i was assembling!

Might have to make another but in gold!

Phil it would suit gold hardware just as it suits the chrome, if you do another with the same wood try the gold, the dark wood should carry it off beautifully!:D

Great looking pen! However, I must ask if the stripes I see in the photo are reflections from something above your pen? It tends to detract from the pen IMHO...

Great looking pen Phil !! I have to agree with Mark . I think any plating would compliment the timber . Very well done , and thanks for sharing with us . [8D]
