M3 style blank

Have been playing around with trying to get an M3 style blank, this is my first attempt

tell me, i turned an M3 last year.......i buffed and polished......and still only got a matte finish.....did yours do the same? while it was on my lathe.....it polished up fine...but by the next day.....matte.

I had the first pen here for a couple of months before I sent it off and it still had the same level of gloss that it had when it came off the lathe. This level of gloss was between satin and full gloss, all the M3 blanks I have seen photographed seem to be around that gloss level

Fred your pen looks great. I have purchased some powdered metal and am going to try some blanks myself. Did you use PR or Alumilite or some other resin?
