From Longbow to Ink Pen

For some reason I kept the bigger drop pieces from a Longbow I made several years ago. Just kept throwing the pieces in the box of scrape wood every time we moved. I had over 40 hours making the riser for that bow and wasn't about to throw away any of the drops.

That would make one heck of an interesting segmenting lesson. You should sell blanks like that.

The two drop pieces I kept are big enough for four blanks. I have three left from this piece. The other piece is basic ally the same, but with an added color from Jatoba. I made one pen off that piece and have three left.

I spent a little over fourth hours making that bow riser block. One of these days I may setup the jig again and make a piece for cutting pen blanks out of. If I do I'll try to do a short video and post it here.
