I had a couple blanks of Banded Malachite Tru Stone laying around, so I decided to try a kitless pen using it. I've never used it before, so it was definitely a learning experience.
I essentially sleeved the tru stone over ebonite for the cap, and gray acrylic for the body, since the tru stone doesn't thread very well. I fabricated the accents and clip from nickel silver. It uses a #6 nib, and has a piston filling mechanism that I made (the last picture shows the blind cap unscrewed and the piston extended forward). Thanks for looking!

Thanks Mal! The trick is to treat it like you would do for wood, and then you're golden!

John, the work of a master. Master machinist, master artist, master tradesman! I have tried the old true-stone Malichite and found it the most difficult to work EVER! You have the patience and commitment of a Craft Elder. You automatically get a discount at the movie theater...and cheaper pop corn. Just mention my name.

John I think you just performed a successful mic drop and left us all speechless. Truly amazing work of art.
