well i am not sure about everyone else but i thought things were meant to be hectic before Xmas, i haven't stopped and unfortunately its not been in the shed making bits.

i cast these 2 about 4 weeks ago, might be longer

A couple more Mecha blanks

the first one surprised me the center part shows RED/GOLD, should be Red paint and Aluminum, some sort of reaction between the paint and resin i am guessing, needless to say i am going to have to try again and see if it happen again

the second is aluminum, black paint rub section and red wire

sorry about the finger prints, i didn't notice them until now

C&C welcome

Great to see you back, Michael Missed you.
The Red cum Gold, is very interesting,
I take it was just Red Model paint?
Did you subject it to any Heat?
Regardless of what ever caused it I like the result.
Love the Black Paint Rub, but the Jury is out on this Red Wire.
I liked your previous posting with the Red Wire, but I can't put my finger on this one.
As usual Great Fit and Finish,
Regards,
Brian.

hiya Brian

the red paint is just a rattle can, the only heat involved would be the Resin setting which can sometimes get fairly warm, i did make 2 blanks on the same day and the aluminum changed color in both cases, it will be interesting to try it again and see what happens

i think the last Red wire pen i made had a aged aluminum look, this has the aluminum in its shiny natural state, i left it because of the shiny aluminum under the black paint, everyone likes different things and i am sure/hope this wont last very long like the rest (fingers crossed)

Nice work Mik. It does seem like this year as been more busy than in the past here too. I have not been able to be in my shop much either. Both of these pens look great..
