This is a lime (PR) and wood casting that I did some time back. Part of my FUZION (blending of dissimilar materials?. Although I've been doing some casting without a PP, this blank would not be possible without 'pressure'. You see, the PR must be forced into the slotted grooves of the wood blank in order to achieve a 'smooth' adhesion. The circles are a full 360 degrees and virtually impossible to turn without ring seperation. A constant CA bath helps to relieve 'tension' (pun intended:biggrin:) until you get towards the end. Makes for some nervous turning since one catch and all is lost.

The pictures pretty well tell the story as to how the blank is made. As a special note to SCOTIAN (Darrel) this pen was turned with ROTONDO (shameless plug on my part). But what else would you use to achieve an 'in the round' or circle effect?

Drop a line if you gots the time:tongue:
