Lilac Wood

Last year my father-in-law cut down some severely overgrown Lilac bushes/trees from in front of his parent’s home in Central Utah. These Lilac’s had been growing for over 100 years. He thought that I might be able to do something with the wood at some point. Well this past weekend my father-in-law’s mother passed away.

I thought that I’d attempt to make him a pen out of this Lilac wood that had been planted over 100 years ago by his grandmother, and which bush/tree remained in the front of his boyhood home until he cut it back last summer; this is how it turned out.
