I had an old Waterman pen that I really liked. It had a very smooth nib (probably because it is most likely a broad tip which means I don't tear holes in paper since I am a lefty). I liked the ligero nib but I had about 10 FP's torn apart one evening for a complete cleaning of all of them down to the nibs and I started to look at the sizes of the inserts. Anyway, the Ligero feeder is a "D" shape, not a full circle in cross section. I decided to sacrifice my Waterman to scientific experiment and I used and x-acto knife to create the flat bottom profile ("D"-shape) and what do you know it slid right in. It was a little long and left too much of the nib sitting out so I found the gold trim ring off of a CSUSA replacement nib and it slid right on perfectly. So now I have a Waterman pen with a Ligero nib and a Ligero Pen with a Waterman nib. It writes great!
Sorry about the nib photo, I was in a hurry and didn't take time to get a good closeup macro shot.
