While cleaning the garage, I found an old leather weightlifting belt. I limit my weight lifting to 12-ounce curls, and I've never turned leather so thought I'd give it a try. I really like this one. Cut, stacked, and glued the pieces. Drilled and soaked in thin CA. Turned, sanded, and applied about 25 coats of medium CA.

Comments/critiques welcome.

Wow, that's beautiful! I would never have thought of doing that. The glow on that is stunning! Congratulations. Russ

Thanks everyone.

Eric, I guess I should have said "soaked with CA". I just poured the thin CA around the sides. It drank it up fast. I did that twice so that it felt solid, then I drilled as in a wood blank.

It looks awesome! I was about to through away my worn-out belt. I guess I have to save it for my own pen blanks.
