Started this pen last weekend on my birthday while watching my son work on his pens... Finished it this morning. Sports a #6 Fine Polished Bock nib at the front end. Thanks for looking. Doc:)

...nicely done. Seems to me, or maybe my poor ole eyes, that there is a bit of silver or gray luster in the blank, and I LIKE it!.Be well...Jan

Jan..LOL.. Your eyes are just fine! There is a grey luster to the blank.Thank you!

Very nice looking pen. Great job.

Aaron, Thank you!

Very neat Doc! luv the color combo.

Thanks John! Think that this blank is similar to the colors used on the Conway Stewart Excalibur Pen..

Very nicely done.
What was your finishing procedure?
Looks like there are a lot of radial sanding rings.

Les

Thank you! Yep! I noticed those rings in the picture.
I switched my method of taking pictures from a light box to right at the workshop bench under fluorescent light at an angle to bring out the gloss.
They are microscopic sanding rings....and although not noticeable to naked eye they are noticeable when when light hits the surface at an angle to where a reflection occurs through the full length of the pen.
I went back yesterday and refinished the pen...I eliminated the rings by ditching the sanding with the wet 600 grit paper that I used to start with.
Now I use only wet Micromesh and stop to cross sand at every grit except 12000 followed by HUT plastic polish X2 and then buff.
Below are pictures of a PITH 2 years ago with light box..

Glorious Pen, Doc.
Beautiful Blank, Superb Close End Construction.
Magnificent Line and Proportions.
Fluorescent lights can create and reveal all sorts of problems.
Great recovery with using the Micromesh.
Another Fantastic Pen
Congratulations,
Brian.
