Default Latest pen from surprise wood...

Purchased some Claro Walnut Burl recently online and the seller included a couple of mystery blanks labeled Spalted Birch.

I had a gold Vertex pen kit I had been wanting use and figured they would make a nice match, especially if I filled the voids with some iridescent gold powder I had on hand. The results worked well I think. Comments?

The wood and your finishing technique are fantastic. (Personally not a big fan of the 'flat sided' pen kits).

Grain looks great from what I can see of it. Go to the library for some tips on lighting you photos. Jim S

Don't change a thing about the photo. The lighting matches the pen.

I can see the pen just fine. My first thought was classy lighting for a classy pen.
