I saw some forum member's hour-glass cap and thought it was a beautiful design, so I worked on this for a few weekend at Dan's shop. Once again, Dan helped me resurrect the base because the tube broke loose inside due to heat buildup... we gotta figure out how to turn plastic so it doesn't heat up so much! I know. I know... sharper tools and lighter cuts!

The kit is a gold titanium baron from arizona silhouette with about half of the kit discarded...

I'm not sure about the hour glass shape, but you did a good job doing what you wanted to do. I do like the end of the pen segmented with the cap material!
