Last one... Lacewood Slimmie

This is the last of a 9 pen turning marathon. It is going to a friend along with a 10th pen, I turned a couple of weeks ago. I really expected more out of this lacewood. I may use some liming wax on the next one to see if it can jump start things with some extra contrast. MM-12,000, Triple Buff, 3 layers CA-BLO, MM-12,000, Double Buff, Ren Wax.

I cut up a nice bowl blank for this. It would have been better to turn the bowl.

Bree, Outstanding finish! You really did do a great job of bringing out the grain and contrast of the wood. I've too turned some lacewood and was not very what you might call enthused with it. But then that's just personal preference.
