Hi folks, popping in with a few pics from a recently finished commissioned piece. This was turned from solid Lapis Lazuli, not true-stone. Interestingly I found it turned easier (though still not easy at all) when it was wet, so I may see if that translates to the other stones I work with. Thanks for looking, I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season :)

Very nice! What tools did you use to turn the Lapis? I have experimented with working fossil dinosaur bone and had to use a diamond wheel in a dremel while the lathe was running to shape it. Hopefully for your sanity the Lapis was easier to work ;)
