Default Land of the Rising Sun

I've been playing with my CNC machine all summer long, but now that it is getting colder out in the shop, decided to play in the "turning studio" aka spare bedroom. I was inspired to do this one as a gift for a man who is in charge of working on our Aircraft Carrier stationed in Yokosuka Japan. It is dyed curly poplar with American holly cut with a laser engraving machine.

Nice pen. You guys with laser engraving machines are doing some pretty intricate things.

Cool pen!

It would be neat to see a video of the process.
