I recently contacted Richards Microfit Gunstocks about buying some cut-offs from their company. After quite a few phone calls, I finally picked up a nice selection of blanks. The first picture shows the blocks, which are about 2.5" square and ranged from 10-12" in length. The rest show the results on a pen. Pretty happy with the result...all finished with BLO/CA followed by EEE polish and One-Step Plastic Polish.

Don't they get their stuff from Green Mountain? Regardless, I had a few pieces from them by way of the brother. Made a few pens and returned them to the brother....wonder if the extra pen ever made it to the owner?

I must say, these are much finer examples of this type of lamb'd timber!!! Well turned!!! Did you have many issues with 'tear-out'?

I didn't have any tear-out issues at all, other than at the beginning when I was getting the corners knocked off. Once round they turned extremely well. I use the EWTs so perhaps that helps.
