Hi all! Here's something new I tried today: an aluminum and cherry laminated celtic knot on an Elegant Manhattan pen. I think it turned out great, what do you think?

GREAT!

Tight lines, the top and bottom of the knots are aligned, even spacing for the veneer.

Well done.

Looks easy, the first 20 are not, but after you get your jigs set and understand your errors, it does become easier.

My only suggestion, which is only my design preference - make some end caps - very easy, but adds a lot to the overall design. (I won't take over your thread, but PM me if you want thoughts).

Thank you very much! You'll see some in one of the competitions soon.

Looks good Aaron. May I ask what you are cutting the slots with and what type of aluminum are you using???

I used a bandsaw with approximately a .04" kerf. The aluminum is just aluminum flashing from the hardware store.
