Here's a pretty basic koa cigar on a gold/gunmetal cigar kit. This is a thank you pen for the gentleman from a lumber mill who gave me a gorgeous offcut of koa from their mill.

This reminds me....I have some KOA that needs to be spun up, can only hope the grain structure looks like this.


I think I need to find friend that give away free KOA too!

thanks for the compliments! I should've been more specific about 'basic' - I sanded through 600 and hit it with a coat of friction polish, as opposed to CA/MicroMesh/Polishing that I've tried on my last couple pens. When I have time to do that, I'll probably make another!

Very nice!

I too was gifted a chunk of this aparently beautiful wood........frankly kinda plane looking as a rough cut piece of timber. Gonna have to turn it when I get back to pens.
