I'm sort of confused to why the acrylic was used for the section?

The brass work is beyond awesome. I can only think you ran out of brass?

Scott plenty of brass. I wanted to try something new. Started with ebonite which broke after a week. Then made one with black Delren. And there was this left over piece of yellow acrylic begging to be used for something. I have some phosphor bronze to make my next pen. Started with aluminum and then 300 series Stainless Steel all metal.

Beautiful work Dan.

How heavy is the brass one? Does it post?

I am so trying to get onto my metal lathe. I made a couple of mandrels, to help with a shaving order, but thats it.

Is that bottom one the stainless or the alluminum? Either way it looks awesome. You should post a picture of the three together.

Thanks Darrin. The last one is stainless steel with a titanium clip. The aluminum is 1 oz / 27 grams. The SS is 3.1 oz / 89 grams. And the Brass is 2.9 oz / 82 grams. All weights with converter and ink. The caps do not post. I was going for a slick minimalist look and external threads wouldn't look quite right.

That is a hefty pen. Is that a rollstop in the top one? It is a beautiful looking trio.

You are really firing up my itch to get started on the lathe.

Before I added the clip I added the roll stop. It's a gold plated 1-72 screw. I got tired of it rolling around my desk.
Online metals is a good source for materials.
