Take2, also known as "Bollocks! I wonder if I can fix that.".

I had this pen mostly finished, and was putting the cap threads on the end of the body when it self destructed. I decided to rescue it, and used a scrap of ebonite left over from a stem to replace the part that imploded. As before, the front section is a Bera El Grande. The hardest part of this was getting the pattern in the material to line up when the cap is fully seated. Lots of little tiny cuts on the lathe...



I sure as heck learned a few things making this one. :rolleyes:

That's alternative horn. It looks great on pipe stems, and I wondered what it would look like on a pen. Not bad, IMO.

My next project is to try something out in alternative ivory. And I wonder if I can remove the carrier and feed from the El Grande nibs and make my own front sections. If so, I'm on my way to something really fun.

Nice, I keep seeing these great kitless pens and doing one just keeps moving up my list. Keep up the good work.
