I made this pen from some cedar cutoffs from a home improvement project one of my coworkers was doing. Another nice blank saved from the burn pile at work.

Did you 'treat' the threaded areas with anything?
Have turned tons of ERC, I know it is kind of soft-ish on the Janka scale.....

Now for the cool stuff! This is giving me a LOT of ideas, I think I will re-try some of my kitless attempts now after seeing this! Very cool and very inspirational!!!

No, I did not treat the threaded area with anything. I just drilled a large hole and inserted an ebonite plug, then drilled and threaded that. It seems to work well enough.

Thanks for the kind words, SDB777. Good luck on your kitless projects! They take a lot of time, but are very rewarding as well.
