King Amber Waves

This is my second King click pen, from Woodturningz. The blank is a Rhino called Amber Waves. Since the body is so short, I was able to use a cutoff. One unique feature of this kit is there is an optional stylus tip available, so the pen can be either normal or stylus. The kit is growing on me. With the short single body, it's easy to turn and finish, and it's easy to assemble. I do wish other finishes were available, though. So far, it's only available in gunmetal and chrome.

Jim, you have a very nice pen there, I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer for me. How did you prep the brass for the blank, did you paint it, did you paint the interior of the blank? Plus, I would like to see a picture of the stylus tip with the refill retracted, I would like to see what the hole in the tip looks like.

I've turned this blank before, so I knew it was relatively opaque. Even though the body wall would be thin, all I did was color the epoxy with gold acrylic paint. As for the tube, I only sanded it.
