Here are a few pics of a screw up and a try at a save.
While i was preparing my blanks i was useing my pen mill
And didnt relize the brass tube had come loose in the blank
And pushed out the other end.
So once i got the tube back in i took my cut off piece and
The pattern just didnt match up and still doesnt.
I took a piece of a red bull can and did a segment with it
Then turned it. It was my first try segmenting with a soda
Can.
Not the best of pics but iam sitting in the semi useing my phone.

I kind of thought you were going to say the cat ate it and you had to go in for it, or wait for it in a day or so... Well enough of my great humor that was a great save on your pen. These are the things that we learn to do that will someday be used to save a $150 pen. Now is the time to develop the skills that will allow you to turn a lost work into a work of art. Great job..

So where do you get those furry cat blanks? I can see on the right front leg where the pattern does not match, but for the life of me I can't see the red bull patch.

Nice save... one of my first pens was a Christmas present, it was also my first acrylic. I had a catch and thought I'd ruined the blank. I drilled and glued in a piece from a bottle cap and had a nice segmenting effect on it.
