Word of advice, don't use your wife's scissors to cut kevlar.
They won't cut anything else when you give them back to her.

Kevlar and carbon fiber inside, PSI rhodium Executive outside.

Nice looking pen.

The same can be said of Spectra, and Spiderwire (both similar). I've used it in tying lanyards and it's a given that I'll have to re-sharpen my knife afterwards. I've heard that if given enough time, you can use the rope/cord to saw through steel. Never tried it though.

I've used kevlar in model airplanes. The way I cut it is with a fresh razor blade. Cut about 6 inches, turn it around, cut another 6 inches, throw it away and get another razor blade.

They sell special ceramic shears for cutting kevlar. But most of the time it's laser cut.

Nicely done. That component set doesn't give much clearance for something like this does it?

The Executive is a 3/8 tube but if you pull the carbon fiber tight when you glue it to the tube you can fit it under the bushings easily.
I've put coins in there with the fiber and still did fine.
