Hi there,

After a while I finished a new experimental "kawari-nuri" urushi fountain pen.

Best,

Martin

Beautiful Pen, Martin.
Spectacular Blank.
Superb Profile, Lines and Proportions.
Excellent Fit and Finish.
Looks Great on the "Pen Rest".
Is the Cap "Postable"?
Congratulations,
Brian.

Beautiful pen Martin!

If I may ask a question. Once you've completely finished the pen as far as polishing, etc. How long does it need to cure before it's safe to handle? Especially for anyone who might have a severe allergy.

Thank you all. When urushi is applied in thin layers and seriously "cured" it will be 99% safe. I have personally never heard of a compaint on this matter, neither from one of my customers nor from retailers.

assuming you get the proper conditions right dry time of 95-98% will result in 24 hours. the last 2% takes 1 year+
