I made my first of the year. This was a piece of wood I won at an MPG a couple years back. I think it might be Amboyna as that was what it smelled like. It just seems a bit dark for it.

Placed on a Stretch with CA finish.

This is cheap I know...but a rosewood of some kind? Maybe even Afezalia...pardon my spelling and lack there of. Pen is bomb!!

I was thinking it might be plain amboyna (not burl). But the smell when turning would have been a dead giveaway.

If it had a smell like Amboyna then is probably Narra which some sources claim to be the same wood just not burled.(Don't remember where I read this)I've turned a lot of both and the smell is identical.

Thanks, I couldn't remember the name of the wood. I've heard the same thing.
