That's really nice. Is it hard to turn acrylics like those vs wood? I want to turn one of those for my nephew but I'm worried my skill level would be lacking.

These circuit board blanks are from PSI, and I've found them to be brittle and very prone to chipout. Wear a face shield (like you should anyway), and use an extra light touch on the edges when you get close to finished size. I always put (2) 7mm spacers between the blanks just to get some extra room to maneuver. Otherwise, go for it!!

Try turning a simple acrylic blank before you tackle a printed circuit blank.

I find that a sharp carbide cutting tool works better than a woodturning gouge.

Very nice pen!

I do realize that the Slimline is the poor child amoungst kits, but I have turned a bunch of modified Slimlines (50-60) for troops, and I have to say that I kept several as I really like them. The Cross refill is not as refined as others, but I have had good luck with them and have been happy to have them for carry pens.
