As with the guineafowl posted earlier, I've been holding off long enough casting feathers. Looked like a lot of hard work, and what if I got it wrong? I did this without a pressure pot or any of that good stuff. Plugged up the ends of a pen tube with dowel, as per one of our very own idiot's guides, here at IAP, tied the junglecock feathers on with shiny thread, cast in clear resin and turned.

This one's a 7mm "Comfort Grip" kit.

Although some may dislike, some may also love it. That is what is great about this hobby. Someone likes them, even when someone else doesn't, and finding out the right combos is where all the fun comes in.

I am with Hunter-27 on this one. I feel the thread breaks up the pattern of the feathers and calls too much attention to the thread and pulls it away from the feathers. JMO though.

Yep. First ever attempt, though. Will definitely glue the feathers on next time as per advice elsewhere. Maybe just make a single band of thread near one end as a feature.
