This is a commissioned piece by one of the professors at the seminary I attend and work at. He really likes this trustone color (as do most!) and also decided to go with the 14K Penchetta nib. Rhodium plating.
The closed-end design was his choice, following the form of a Mont blanc fountain pen he likes. I think it looks good with this kit, though I prefer a bit of a flare at the base rather than a taper.
Here is a close-up of the "gold out" 14K penchetta nib which is plated with rhodium except the outer band. This nib writes like a dream! I highly recommend it. Check out Anthony's page, www.thegoldennib.com.
