I paid a visit to Buzzzz4 last night. He had offered to show me how he finishes pens (Thanks to the help of others on this forum, I'd gotten to the point where I could get a good finish consistently. However, the methods of getting that finish were inconsistent. As a result, while the pens were looking good, something needed tweaking) when I got around to turning the cast he did for me (see this thread: http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81289 ).

Last night we both had the time, so we went to his shop and went to work.

I really don't know how I could be happier with the results. I'm usually pretty critical of my work, but this one I am quite pleased with.

The wood is cherry with a red/gold (ETA: Not sure what) cast on a Titanium Gold Jr. Gent.

Once again thanks to Buzzzz4 for not only his help and generosity, but also his gracious hospitality.

Comments and critiques welcome, and thanks for looking.

P.S.

Found some Corian. Happy now Eric.:wink:

Very nice with the red. I will have to remember that trick of pouring the blank like that.
