After two years of looking at this blank I finally felt brave enough to turn it today. I just kept telling myself "it's just a piece of wood".

All comments and critique are welcome.

Marla,

Very nice, but I do believe that is an imperial not a lotus.

Thanks for letting me know. I've never made this kit before and had to "borrow" it from Pete's kit drawer before he noticed, he's making kitless anyway.
I didn't even know he has Imperials ... note to self: check drawer tonight when he's at work!:wink:

I think MOST of us have had those concerns about turning that special blank. I'm glad you were able to get it done Marla. The pen is very nice. Well done!

Thanks Chuck, it's just a piece of wood ... I'm feeling pretty confident right now, thanks to all the nice comments, so I think this weekend I'll give the huang huili (sp?) a try, maybe this time on a Lotus if there is one in the drawer, or an Emperor.
