Jarrah Burl on gold tit. roundtop from Berea. Voids filled with gold/translucent polymer clay.

My first fountain pen; still working on the photos.

The pictures are kind of dark. But that gold/translucent polymer clay fill came out beautifully.

I have two questions? Did you fill the voids and bake after turning the wood down? And is the gold/translucent mix 50/50?

Cathy Sue - Yes, I turned to size, filled with clay and baked. Only sanding after the bake. The mix is 50/50. The gold Premo has a slight metallic look. I'm not sure what the translucent does to effect the overall look.

The finish is CA; no doubt my best one to date. It was 35 and raining when I did it. Go figure.

The finished look really is stunning although my sorry pics don't show it. I'll try to get some better photos up today. I'm struggling with my lighting. Can't seem to get it right.
