I didn't do much turning this weekend, but I did manage to complete two commissions. This gentleman wanted a large ivory fountain pen so I spec'ed a Rhodium and Ti Gold Statesman in Alternate Ivory (from Exotic Blanks) and added a Bock nib. I think it turned out pretty nice. What do you think?

Very nice! What was the material like? Brittle or very soft?

I had to be rather careful with it. I suffered my first blowout drilling it, so after that I went very slow and kept the blank cool. The blowout was major but thankfully I had enough material to try it again.

Plus the material had some very subtle (not really visible in the photos) graining, like real ivory, so it is really elegant. I will most definately use it again.
