Evening guys,

I thought I'd post today's pen. My seventh in total, but who's counting. Lol!

I used bubinga and African rose wood for this two tone slimline pen. This one took a long time to do as there was a lot of vibration and chattering. I'm not sure why that was. It made it very hard to get nice smooth cuts and the spindle gouge kept skipping. I spent ages sanding trying to get rid of the tool marks.

If anyone has advice that would be appreciated.

Night all.

Sharp tools are a must--dull ones are dangerous.
The hole being off center doesn't really matter although it requires working the ghost.
Think of it like multi-axis turning.

The question is was it still doing the same things when you got it turned round??? If it did the same things throughout the pen then there is something wrong like a bent mandrel or headstock and tailstock out of alignment and so many more things. As mentioned starting with sharp tools is a must and light cuts.
