Here's one thing I did today. Cant really do much since I crushed a finger joint harvesting some burl and some pecan.

These are on some flame maple I had laying around and I did the colors as a quick color chart for my self. The all blue one is to look at the depth of Dye penetration. Which is about a 1/32nd or so.

The dye can be bought here > http://www.tandyleather.com/prodinfo.asp?number=2205900&variation=&aitem=66&mitem=67 It is a achohol dye.

The finish on here is 2 layers of 2lb cut shellack with one layer of hut wax finish.

The first colors are the one in the set with the exception of the blue on the right. It is the Fiebings Blue dye. The blank with just the blue is the Fiebings blue dye.

Great colors...Did you have any problems with them rubbing off during finishing??
I have been experimenting with different dyes and markers, and seem to loose about 75% on the towel when I apply the finish.
Thanks
