It's been a while since I put up any pics. I have been pretty busy around the house but not a lot of focus in the shop. Hopefully that will be changing now.
A Black Titanium razor and stand set done in African Blackwood.
A Stainless Steel bottle stopper in African Blackwood.
A Makeup Brush done with piece of unique Olivewood.
Two of the pens are Marlas blanks.
One is a Feather click I purchased from our hosts.
The second one is a Canadiana Fountain dressed up in one of her Paper blanks that she sent me in an exchange. I looked hard, but could not see the paper join.
Thanks Marla
The last pen was one that I have wanted to try. The kit is a Cambridge Rollerball. Normally I am not keen on the black nib section, but I like it here.
I heard that at one time, some fountain pens were made from hard rubber. So I got my brain to thinking (lots of smoke involved) and came up with a good Canadian solution. A good old fashioned hockey puck.
It turned almost too easy. Super sharp tools required to prevent tearing, even then I kept leaving behind the odd little groove. Finally I used some 600 sandpaper to tweak the shape. The rubber felt soft in my hand, and I was afraid of it rubbing off and leaving black dust on the finger. So I gave it about 8 coats of CA then polished with micromesh and huts polish.
People usually can't guess the material unless I give good hints.
As usual I hope you enjoy the pics and critics are always welcome.
