I have been gone awhile, havent turned anything pretty much since January, my wife opened up a store and I have been either building their sales counter or making some flatwork inventory for her store.... FINALLY I got back to my lathe.

A friend had seen some of my work and wanted a 'hefty' pen made with something with some history ... (along the way, another friend decided HE wanted one too), so I made my first Cigar Pens for the guys.

The first one is from some a piece of Sweetgum salvaged from a 100+ yr old barn, the second one is some spalted river birch.

(I snuck in a prop, which is a Natural Edge Maple bowl I made too) thanks for looking, comments are welcome!

The bowl with the natural edge is stunning and the two pens are perfectly turned! Glad you are finally able to visit your lathe again!
