Finish is 4 or 5 coats of Watco followed by 4 or 5 coats of shellac and then waxed.

Comments and critiques appreciated.

How does the Danish oil compare with the BLO?

Nice fit-n-finish on this one....been thinking of switching over to the Navigator kits(same barrel sizes as the Baron/Sedona for closed end), have you noticed if the finishes hold up to wear?

It's a smaller species of Elm native to Ireland, Scotland and England. Dutch Elm disease has started taking them down pretty quickly and the people who are cutting it are hoarding it waiting for the price to skyrocket once they're all gone.

There are two theories on the name - wych means pliable or bendable so it was more bendable than regular elm. It was also used in the bottom of butter churns to keep the churn from being hexed.

Liking the Watco better than the BLO as it builds faster and has more body.

This is my first Navigator so I can't speak to the wear aspect.
